Potential and kinetic

Did you know that there is two types of energy? One is called potential and the other is kinetic energy. Potential energy is stored energy that is ready to be used. Kinetic energy is moving energy like a ball being rolled down a hill. Now I'm going to tell you about them.

For example , a Newtons cradle shows these two types of energy. If you lift one of the balls up it is showing potential energy. You cannot see this energy until it is transformed into kinetic. If you let it go it will start moving and show kinetic energy.

There is always an opposite and equal reaction from every action, so the kinetic energy will run through the balls and it will cause an opposite reaction at the other side.

Feedback: I like your story HARRISON . Next time add a description Arlo.
Feed forward :good work but next time you could have a bit more information#hunter.

Integrity video

WALT: communicate a message with others.
WALT: show integrity.

DESCRIPTION: We have been learning about integrity.  We want to share our understanding with others.

What? Make a Puppet Pal to show our understanding of integrity.
Why? To show what we know about integrity, to share during our Student Led Conference.
When? Term 2, Week 1 - 7
Who? The World
WALT: communicate a message with others. I think I have done this because we have a narrator.
Create a story board showing the beginning, middle and end of our message. I think I have done this because I have a picture for proof.
Use Puppet Pals as a tool to share our message. I think I have done this because I have a video of it.
Keep our audience engaged. I think I have done this because it is short

WALT: show integrity.
Everyone in our group has contributed evenly. I think everyone has contributed because you can hear four different voices.
Integrity is the main theme of our message. I think we have done this because we have narrator to tell that the snail shows integrity.

Enjoy !!!

Potential and kinetic science

WALT: show our understanding of how energy works.

DESCRIPTION: Each week we have been learning about a different type of energy.  For example, States of Matter, Kinetic and Potential, Radiation, Conduction and Convection.

Gathering Data

I can gather information using my 5 senses
I can gather information to make a prediction
I can use my information to draw conclusions
I can share my findings using evidence I have gathered

Task: Make a video (no longer than 30 seconds) about on example of
energy. i.e. States of matter, Potential and Kinetic energy, Newtons Cradle or forms of energy like Radiation, Convection, Conduction.

Feedback: good job. Next time you could speak louder

What makes a good video:
- clear voices     No
- different camera angles.    No
- Still camera skills     Yes
- mute background noise     Yes
- mixture of still and moving images     No
- background distractions     No
- music     Yes

What makes a good poster:
- clear writing
- detail
- images
- interactive

Self reflection : I think I did well because I made good timeing

Literacy sample

Task: For each letter of your spelling words find a word that stands for each letter. In the end you should have a sentince for each word.
W.A.L.T: rote learn
